 [Honestly? He's been here wayyy longer than he planned to be. He knew it'd be hard to escape, but it had to be possible. That's what he kept telling himself. Days turned into weeks turned into months and now? It's been over a year.

The other Inquisitors still don't completely treat him like one of them. Or maybe teasing is their way of doing so? He rolls his eyes whenever they call him "baby brother", thinking they could at least have some sense of professionalism. But everything's been going okay for the most part. As okay as it can be when you're an Inquisitor-in-training.

Except today was... well, it was something else. They were assigned to ambush a small rebel cell that was said to be working with a Jedi. It should've been easy, except for the part where it wasn't. The rebels got away and the Inquisitors had failed. Now Ezra's standing outside the Grand Inquisitor's office while the adults debrief. It's frustrating, being left out like this, but he also knows there isn't much he can do about it.]

[ "kid" hm? does she mean ezra? if so...

third brother advances again, but this time doesn't bother with taking the given route. if this guard is planting bombs then he's going to have a lot of trouble getting close undetected. throwing that one bomb in the air could already give away his presence.

he decides another tactic. along the walls that make up interior rooms for storage, he finds a particularly darkened area to hide in. then he kneels down, knees planted into the metal flooring, and waits in the cover. if she gets curious enough, she may just come to him. ]

[No explosion this time. That's interesting. Sabine circles around, retracing her and the intruder's steps. No way they just gave up. Besides, she would've heard that. And if this is Ezra... she's gonna kill him.

Holding her blasters out in front of her, she steps just close enough to Third Brother's hiding spot to still not be able to see him. Too bad she doesn't have the Force and can't sense his presence.]

[ he waits, senses, focuses, and exercises patience. a lot of his siblings, ezra included, often forget the value of patience. not every battle is won by rushing in with overwhelming strength. sometimes it's just waiting for the right opportunity.

third brothers hands rise from his knees and extend out past his cloak, and with a sharp inhale he shoves his hands out to lift the petite girl and pin her against the wall opposite of them in this wide alley. ]

[Sabine doesn't even have enough time to fire a shot before she's lifted up into the air. She drops her blasters, cursing herself for not having a tighter grip. What kind of Mandalorian is she if she couldn't even keep a hold of her weapons?

Although... this is a bit of a different situation than normal.]

Who are you and what are you doing here?!

[Even behind her helmet, the anger in her voice is clear.]

[blindrun]

[ now that he gets a good look at her, at her armor, he can't help but let out a quiet scoff. ]

Better question: why has a Mandolorian teamed up with a bunch of rag-tag rebels? [ he carefully kicks away her blasts with a gentle sweep of his foot, keeping his voice down. ] Your people are loyal to the Empire. Why have you defected?

[convor]

Gar Saxon is loyal to the Empire. I'm loyal to Mandalore.

[It's a non-answer, but it's a lot coming from Sabine. She's told no one, not even the Ghost crew, the full details of why she defected. There's no way she's telling him, no matter who or what he is.]

Now answer me.

[Is she in a position to be making orders? Nope, but she's a Mandalorian.]

[blindrun]

[ mandalore. like it's even a place anymore. but he has more important things to do than argue with a rebel. ]

I'm here for a boy name Ezra Bridger. Tell me where he is, and I'll let you live.

[convor]

[She is absolutely gonna kill Ezra later.]

Never heard of him. Sorry.

[But... she knows how hard it is to escape from the Empire all the same.]

[blindrun]

Liar.

[ he takes a step closer and raises up a hand, patience limited for the usual mercy he tries to extend for reasons beyond him. his eyes narrow under the hood and he pushes the dark side of the force through her, seeking to extract the location out. ]

You will tell me where he is.

[convor]

I... [She tries to form the words "I won't", but something stops her. Without meaning to, she says,]

I don't know where he is.

[The truth. He's likely somewhere on base, but she has no clue where exactly. Her voice is still weak as she stares him down.]

My comm's been on for a while now. Maybe you can kill me, but even you can't take on an entire army.

[Like they can even be called that...]

[blindrun]

[ third brother stares at her, contemplates, and ultimately steps back and releases her from the wall. this won't do. he has no time to search and they could be on him at any moment if her comm is on. how frustrating... but a new idea comes to mind at the mention of an army coming for her. ]

Guess I'll have to settle for you.

[ and with a strong and swift hand he grabs her by the arm and yanks her up, deciding a hostage situation is called for. if ezra values her he'll come to save her. if not, he has a runaway mandolorian to bring back for treason. ]

[convor]

What?!

[As he grabs her, she kicks, punches, struggles, anything she can possibly do to get free. This is not what she was expecting. For a Mandalorian, death is more welcome than being taken hostage like this.]

[blindrun]

Ugh.

[ he is not surprised she's struggling, but this is not what he came for. it isn't even satisfying when he's fighting against someone so easily outmatched by his power. at least if the jedi were around he could be entertained. and if it were ezra, all the better.

he throws her against the wall again, though this time with his strength alone, and waves a hand in front of her helmet. ]

Sleep.

[convor]

[And with that simple word, her body goes limp and she falls asleep. She looks peaceful. Or dead. One of those, and they're pretty close together in her mind.]

[ third brother unsnaps the cloak and takes off the hood, letting the whole ensemble drop to the ground. if her comm really is on like she claimed, someone is probably going to try and come for her right now. it's a pain but he has to keep at least one hand free. careful and as quickly as he can, he swings her arms around his neck and picks her legs up to hang by his hips. once he settles her in his hold he makes a run back the way he came, knowing he can jump off the railing safely and get to his ship from there. ]

[merging]

[Ezra's still training with Ahsoka when Chopper rushes over to tell them Sabine encountered an intruder on her patrol. He doesn't even think for a moment before he runs off, not listening to Ahsoka or anyone else. Jedi training, Sith training, none of it matters. He's still Ezra.

As he nears her last location, he feels a dark presence in the Force, one that's all too familiar. He doubles his speed, eventually catching up enough to see Third Brother in the distance, Sabine draped over him. Ezra ignites his lightsaber, not stopping for a second.]

Let go of her!

[Despite his anger, his presence in the Force is bright and warm.]

[blindrun]

[ third brother, atop the railing, turns half-way over to take a look at ezra. the first thing he sees is his white lightsaber, a spike of anger rushing through him at the sight of it. he could kill this girl right now in front of him and it would be satisfying, but there are bigger plans in store. he won't give into his anger - he will control it as his weapon.

his hand lifts and shoves out, a blast of dark energy erupting from his to shoot across the landing bay toward ezra. he just needs to push him back, make sure the distance isn't one the boy can recover against. ]

[merging]

[That's definitely enough to push Ezra back. Even as he's been growing stronger, defense isn't something he excels at and it's definitely not something he cares to work on. His forms may be less aggressive, but they're still incredibly aggressive.

He falls back, still calling out.]

Sabine!

[she can't hear him she's got airpods]

[ by the time ezra calls out, third brother has already taken a leap off the railing and descended to the ground. from the back of the base he finds a speeder bike used for transit, which he quickly snaps up for his own needs. the last sight ezra will see is him riding the bike, sabine limply attached to his back, as he gets back to his ship. ]

[merging]

[Ezra pants, knowing this is all his fault and hating himself for ever coming to the base and putting everyone in danger. He gets why everyone hates him now. They were right.

His connection to the dark side flares up, stronger than it's been in weeks. And then Ahsoka catches up with him catching up with them. She reminds him to center himself, and says some weird Force stuff that he only half-listens to. But it calms him down, at least for now. He shouldn't rush in and risk Sabine's life, but he will save her. He'll save everyone, he has to.

Meanwhile Sabine is honkshoo zzzzz]

[blindrun]

[ the bike makes a quick travel from base to ship, and he gives it a solid cut apart with his saber once he's off with the mandolorian in tow. he cuffs her wrists down to the shotgun and it isn't more than a few minutes before they're going up into the air, past the atmosphere, and out to space. this isn't what he planned for, but that's fine. he doesn't have to go back to base right away and shouldn't if he doesn't have proof of ezra's death. they won't forgive his transgressions at this point.

once the ship is set into hyperspace and autopilot is set, he turns sabine around in her chair and waves his hand at her again. ]

Awaken.

[ he sits back down in the pilot chair across from her and waits, elbow pressed into the armrest and fist propping up his cheek. he's a bit tired honestly but it's fine. they're going to be in hyperspace for a while. ]

[convor]

[She wakes up with a sudden start, and as soon as she realizes where she is, starts struggling again. It's pointless, she knows, but better to make an effort than give in completely.]

Let me go.

[Her voice is laced with venom.]

Oh. Sure.

[ he says lowly and straightens up, hands settled into the armrests. ]

I'll be letting you go as soon as Bridger and the Jedi who leads you come to your rescue. You'll be treated to a nice cell in an Imperial prison for your treason.

[convor]

I know you guys aren't all that smart, but that's not what letting go means.

[Struggling not working out? It's time for snark, a rebel's last defense.]

Besides, there are no Jedi. In the Rebellion or otherwise. You've seen to that, haven't you?

[blindrun]

You can drop the act. We know about Ahsoka Tano.

[ a shame she isn't dead when she's such a threat, but she's... off limits. they've been given strict orders to only take her alive and that's tough when she was trained by some of the best jedi in the galaxy. but if even the best jedi fell, then so will their apprentices. ]

Got to say, our intel didn't pickup that a Mandolorian was among the Rebel ranks. You shouldn't be too quick to pick sides on this considering your political advantage.
